SOLD,SOLD,SOLD After the bombing of the Obersalzberg and the subsequent death of Adolf Hitler at the end of April 1945, many locals looted the Berghof and the numerous buildings on the Obersalzberg. While food and other supplies were naturally at the top of the shopping list, many people also picked up silverware, linens, and other furnishings, some of which are found in households and collections today.
The exact origin is not certain whether from the platterhof or the Rasthaus am Chiemsee resort, but looking at the photos of the period I am sure This style of chandelier was used at the Platterhof.
Provenance auction Hermann Historica.
