This dessert fork comes from the hotel dining room setting at the Platterhof Hotel. As we know, the Platterhof was owned by the NSDAP and was used to house officials and dignitaries waiting to see Hitler. It was located just a short distance from the Berghof. The fork measures 16 cm in length having four well-shaped tines. Other than a trimmed edge decoration running the major length of the handle, this flatware is plain in design. At the lower handle surface is embossed the logo of the Platterhof being a peasant women standing in front of a mountainous area. The utensil is hallmarked on the reverse “90”, indicating it is silver-plated. The maker, “Gebr. Hepp”also appears in the hallmark.
