Taken from the famous Platterhof hotel in Berchtesgaden before its destruction towards the end of the war. It bears the Maiden of the Mountains embossed stamp on the front. The zipper works perfectly. Maker marked ‘Gebrüder Hepp 90’ or ‘hotel silver’.
Initially a hostel for loyal Nazis, the Platterhof became a hotel for visiting dignitaries.
Ideally designed to be a national hotel, it served primarily as a secluded sanctuary for high-ranking Nazi dignitaries and high-profile guests. It was guarded by machine guns and contained a bomb shelter.
