The ‘Adolf Hitler Haus’ was located in Frankfurt-Main, on Gutleutstraße 8-12. It originally opened as a luxury hotel in 1907, and was later purchased by the Nazi Party as a Frankfurt base, being formally inaugurated in September 1933 with a grand opening ceremony.
The initial plans for the Nazi Aktion T4 euthanasia program were formulated in this historic building, a program that resulted in the involuntary euthanasia of almost 300,000 people in psychiatric hospitals across Germany, Austria, Poland and the modern-day Czech Republic, the vast majority of whom were considered to have mental or physical defects.
